Munhumutapa: CAPS, Hardrock march on, Triangle dumped out

CAPS United booked their ticket into the last eight of the ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup after dismissing Manica Diamonds 2-0 at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
The Green Machine got their goals from Davison Marowa who pounced on a defensive mix-up early in the first half before Junior Bunjira rounded off the win early in the second half.
Takesure Chiragwi’s men did not have any struggle as the Gem Boys defended deep, attacking on the counter but lacking precision upfront.
The win keeps Makepekepe in contention for a domestic double as they are still in the Chibuku Super Cup.
It was also a perfect launch-pad for next weekend’s crunch Harare Derby where they will clash with crosstown rivals Dynamos FC on Saturday.
At Luveve, Hardrock thumped Jordan FC, with Gerald Takwara, Neliswa Dlamini, Washington Navaya, Thubelihle Mavuso, Wilfred Madzungu getting the goals for the Kasongo Boys.
At Gibbo, Blanket Mine caused a major upset when they knocked out Triangle United on penalties, after the two sides had drawn 2-2.
