More problems for Dynamos, abandoned game awarded to FCP, Chaminuka gets 2-match touchline ban

Dynamos’ bid to survive relegation from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League suffered yet another blow, as their abandoned match against FC Platinum were awarded to the Zvishavane-based side on a 3-0 scoreline.

The two sides clashed at Mandava Stadium on June 22 and was abandoned in the 75th minute at 1-1, after the hosts were awarded a penalty by referee Quedusani Dirwai.

Dynamos players, on the instruction of their coach, Saul Chaminuka, walked off the pitch in protest, leading to the game’s abandonment.

The Premier Soccer League found DeMbare guilty of causing the abandonment of the game.

“Dynamos FC were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum played at Mandava stadium on 22 June 2025,” the PSL said in a statement yesterday.

“Consequently, the club has been fined a sum of US$5000 and the match was awarded to FC Platinum on a 3 nil scoreline.

“Furthermore, Dynamos FC Head Coach, Saul Chaminuka, was also held responsible for his conduct during the match. He has been fined US$4000 and banned from occupying the technical bench for the club’s next two matches.

“The PSL reminds all clubs, players and officials of their obligation to uphold the league’s rules and regulations. Any actions that disrupt fixtures, undermine the integrity of the competition or bring the game into disrepute will not be tolerated.”

Chaminuka’s absence on the touchline, particularly for this afternoon’s make-or-break encounter against Manica Diamonds, will be a blow to DeMbare, who need to win to entertain any chance of survival.
