Kylian Mbappe and his former employers have brought their prolonged disagreement to a labor tribunal in the French capital. The France skipper is demanding 263m euros (£231.5m) from Paris St-Germain, arguing that unpaid income and wider harm resulted from the breakdown in their relationship.
The Real Madrid attacker, now 26, says his claim includes 55m euros (£46.3m) that he believes should have been paid during his final spell with the club. PSG, meanwhile, are requesting 240m euros (£211m) from their ex-forward, connecting the figure to a collapsed 300m-euro move to Al-Hilal in 2023.
He switched to the Spanish champions without a transfer fee the following year.
A verdict from the court is expected to take several weeks.
The tensions first emerged in July 2023, after the striker rejected a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
According to his view, that refusal and his decision not to commit to an additional term led to him being removed from parts of the squad’s activities.
He was omitted from the club’s Asian tour and skipped the opening league match, eventually returning to the line-up later on. PSG argue these steps followed an understanding that he would relinquish certain contractual sums to help stabilize the organization financially. His advisers have dismissed this account as entirely inaccurate, saying he still awaits both salary and performance-related income.
They insist the club’s narrative bears no relation to the events surrounding his final season.
Claims and counterclaims intensify
After Monday’s session, the Ligue 1 side stated they want official confirmation of what they call substantial harm created by what they view as severe breaches of contractual obligations.
The club argues that the player hid his intention not to prolong his agreement for nearly a full year, from July 2022 until June 2023.
PSG also deny any form of pressure or mistreatment, noting that he received unusually favorable conditions during his seven seasons there. The forward’s camp continues to maintain that he was treated unfairly in the final phase of his stay.
Between 2017 and 2024, the striker scored 256 goals in 308 matches for the Paris outfit and collected 15 trophies. His initial demand regarding the 55m-euro sum had first passed through football authorities in France.
Only after that process concluded was the matter escalated to the judicial system. Both sides now await the tribunal’s final position on the dispute.
