Maruwa wary of Dynamos threat

TelOne coach Hebert ‘Jompano’ is not getting carried away by Dynamos’
struggles and has warned his charges against complacency when the two sides meet in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash at Ascot Stadium tomorrow.

Maruwa – a former Dynamos coach himself, having been at the helm of the Glamour Boys in 2022 – leads his TelOne into battle against a DeMbare side, looking out of sorts.

Dynamos have won just two of their 19 matches this season and need a miracle to survive relegation.

The troubled giants are languishing in 17th place on the table despite a change in their technical team, which saw Saul Chaminuka replacing Lloyd Chigowe.

Despite the struggles in the blue half of Harare, Maruwa insists Dynamos can change their fortunes at any point in time, starting with tomorrow’s game.

“Dynamos is a big club; they can rise at any time. So, we treat this game as a cup final. I’ve been telling my players that in the second half of the season, games are not easy.
“Every team is playing for a reason. Dynamos want to move away from relegation, so basically they will be up there in terms of the determination to win,” Maruwa said.
