Highlanders are in talks with with former Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United winger Kudakwashe Mahachi, whose return to the Bulawayo giants looks highly likely.
Bosso have tabled a one-year deal for the 32-year-old former Warriors winger, who has 44 caps for the national team.
The Bulawayo-bred nimble-footed winger has a rich history with Highlanders, having started his youth career at the club before moving to Chicken Inn.
The Highlanders executive believes Mahachi’s experience can come in handy in their youthful squad in the upcoming season.
Mahachi is on a path to revival following a well-documented scandal involving his ex-wife Maritha Ndlovu, who accused the former Warriors star of scalding their then four-year old son with hot water.
Mahachi was at Manica Diamonds last season, though he barely featured for the Gem Boys.
Other familiar faces training with the Bulawayo giants include former FC Platinum players Rainsome Pavari , Shepherd Mhlanga and Corey Black.
Highlanders are looking to rebuild under freshly-recruited South African coach Thabo Senong, after a difficult last season, which saw them fighting relegation.
