Kelvin Kaindu confirms star striker Dube’s injury

Kelvin Kaindu has revealed striker Prince Dube could miss Hardrock FC’s Chibuku Super Cup first-round tie against Bulawayo Chiefs on Saturday due to injury.

Dube was a notable absentee as Hardrock FC also missed him in the Munhumutapa Cup Round of 32. In his absence they beat Kwekwe United 1-0 at Chahwanda Stadium to reach the Round of 16 of the maiden edition of the competition.

Speaking after the match, Kaindu confirmed Dube’s absence was injury-related and he remains a doubt ahead of next weekend’s match.

“Prince is injured. He got injured during our previous match against Manica Diamonds. He has missed training this past week, but we are hoping that in the coming week or the following one, he will be available,” Kaindu said.

Dube joined Hardrock last month, and his signing was a big statement by the Kwekwe-based side. He hit the ground running immediately, scoring three goals in four league matches.As a result, he is a favorite to win the July PSL Player of the Month award.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Neliswa Dlamini’s 20-second goal was all Hardrock FC needed to win the Kwekwe derby 1-0 and march into the Round of 16, a stage giants Dynamos failed to reach. MWOS FC also bowed out of the tournament.

Hardrock FC also continue to rise in Zimbabwe after completing high-profile mid-season acquisitions for the 2026 campaign. The haul is headlined by Warriors striker Prince Dube on a free transfer from Young Africans.

They also signed defender Gerald Takwara, Eswatini duo Thubelihle Mavuso and Yekisizwe Khumalo, and secured a pre-window agreement for Highlanders midfielder Mongameli Tshuma. Malawian McDonald Lameck completes their signings.
