Jumbo Giants Football Club have appointed Justice Mugota Chasura as their new head coach, ahead of their debut campaign in the Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL).
Chasura, a former assistant coach at Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League sides FC Hunters and St Paul’s Musami, joins Jumbo Giants from Gloy Mine FC, where he led the team to a second-place finish in the 2025 ZIFA Mashonaland Central Division 2A League.
”I am pleased to be joining Jumbo Giants,” Chasura told Fanzone.
“The prospect of coaching in the Northern Region Soccer League was an offer too good to resist. I thank the Jumbo Giants executive for the appointment and I declare to the Jumbo Giants family that I will work very hard to make Jumbo Giants a formidable side,” he added.
Chasura, who oversaw 25 games at Gloy Mine, winning 20, drawing four, and losing one, is targeting a top four finish or even challenging for promotion to the Premier Soccer League.
“I am targeting a top four finish and I urge the residents of Jumbo to trust the process and have patience. We are underdogs in the highly competitive league, but I believe we are not going to add numbers in the league, but fight for top honours,” he said.
To his previous employers Gloy Mine, Chasura thanked them for the faith they had in him and wished them success.
”To Gloy Mine, I thank them for affording me the opportunity to work there. I wished them well and hope they get promoted to the Northern Region Soccer League,” Chasura added.
