Ambitious PSL newcomers Hardrock FC have shifted base to South Africa after a week-long spell in Botswana, intensifying preparations for their PSL debut.
The latest addition to the PSL landed in South Africa on Friday and are set for a few friendlies against Motsepe Foundation Championship teams, whose names have been kept under wraps.
This follows what has been regarded as a fruitful week in Botswana, where they were also hosted by Zimbabwean businessman Tendani Sebata, who owns Botswana Premier League outfit Black Lions FC.
The Golden Boys, bankrolled by owner Shepherd Chahwanda, have big ambitions for their maiden PSL season, and they’re pulling out all the stops.
Despite shaking up their squad, they’ve retained key players like Munyaradzi Diro-Nyenye, Last Nyilenda, and Alpha Dube, and bolstered their ranks with exciting signings like Zambian striker Andrew Phiri, Washington Navaya, and Martin Mapisa.
Meanwhile, they’re expected to return on February 27, a day before their home ground, Chahwanda Stadium, is opened.
The stadium is set to be unveiled by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and fans are buzzing with anticipation. With their debut match against 2025 champions Scotland FC looming, Hardrock FC is gearing up for a whirlwind season.
