PSL newcomers Hardrock FC are set to stick with defender, Munyaradzi Diro-Nyenye as captain for their maiden PSL appearance.
Diro-Nyenye led Hardrock to PSL promotion as captain and is one of the few players retained by the club. The former Harare City centre-back was retained along with former Yadah right-back Lenox Mucheto and unheralded left-back Alpha Dube.
For his excellence, the 31-year-old was Central Region Soccer League Soccer Star of the Year first runner-up. As captain of the then ambitious Central Region outfit, Diro-Nyenye led from the front in a campaign that demanded nerve as much as talent.
Hardrock FC clinched the championship with 88 points, six clear of nearest rivals Sheasham in a season that never truly allowed anyone to relax. It has emerged that even Kelvin Kaindu is keen to keep Diro-Nyenye as the team’s leader for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Hardrock are set for a pre-season camp in Botswana, as they step up preparations for the potentially thrilling 2026 season. Hardrock have a strong squad on paper. Kaindu blended raw potential and experience to build a squad capable to make a lasting impression.
They signed Nigel Matinha, a stylish midfielder, from 2025 PSL runners-up MWOS FC, while the club also secured the services of striker Wilfred Madzungu. To add flair to the wings, Hardrock signed Edward Musena, an explosive left-footed player from Chicken Inn.
Misheck Ngwenya joined from FC Platinum and Marshall Gavaza was lured from ZPC Kariba, with the hope of stabilising their defence.
They further bolstered their arsenal with Tinashe Mashaireni, goalkeeper Elton Sibanda from Sheasham FC, Simon Makawa from ZPC Kariba, Prince Gwetu and Oncemore Uriri who joined from Gwanda Pirates and Grain Tigers, respectively.
And Warriors goalkeeper Martin Mapisa, veteran Masimba Mambare and the reigning Soccer Star of the Year, Washington Navaya, capped off their signings.
