Harare City still in contention for the title, says Try Ncube

Harare City coach Try Ncube believes his side remains firmly in the race for the league title after back-to-back victories boosted the team’s confidence at the start of the second half of the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League season.

The recent wins have given the Sunshine Boys fresh momentum, with Ncube insisting his players are determined to keep pushing until the final round of the campaign.

“We are happy with the two consecutive wins because they have given us confidence,” said Ncube.

“We are still in the race and we are determined to push until the end,” he added.

While acknowledging that Black Rhinos are currently the team to beat, the former Highlanders assistant coach believes the title race is far from over.

“Black Rhinos are leading at the moment, but there are several teams chasing them, including Chingwere, Ngezi Stars Under-19 and ourselves,” said Ncube.

“The second half of the season has just started, so anything is possible,” he added.

Harare City’s consecutive victories have strengthened their position in the standings and reinforced the belief within the camp that they can challenge for top honours.

With plenty of matches still to be played, Ncube is confident the title race remains wide open and says his side will continue fighting for every point as they look to close the gap on the league leaders.
