Grand Legacy’s Chinyani: “Fortress Musami stands, but road needs fixing”

‎St Paul’s Musami Stadium is quickly becoming enemy territory for visitors. Grand Legacy FC made it three home wins from three on Saturday, edging Buffaloes FC 1-0 thanks to Oscar Nyatsuro’s 49th-minute strike in Week 6 of the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League.

‎It was the Golden Boys’ third successive home victory and handed Buffaloes their first defeat of the season. Nyatsuro was the hero of the day, his second-half finish settling a tight contest and sending the home crowd into celebration.

‎But for Head Coach Collin Chinyani, the job is only half done.

‎Speaking to Fanzone after the Buffaloes scalp, Chinyani lamented that their home form is excellent at the moment but is worried about their campaign on the road.

‎“Our home form is fine, we have won three out of three, but our away form hasn’t been good, losing all three,” Chinyani told Fanzone after the match. “We have not conceded at home, but the challenge now is we need to improve our away record, we have played three, we have lost three.”

‎Grand Legacy’s split personality this season is stark. They’ve beaten Tenax CS FC, Power FC, and now Buffaloes at Musami, turning their ground into a fortress. Yet on the road, they’ve lost every game, including last week’s 1-0 defeat at Bikita Minerals FC.

‎Saturday’s win over Buffaloes was the perfect response. “The first half we played well, we played the way we wanted to play,” Chinyani said. “The second half when we scored, I think we let the opponent dictate play for the last fifteen minutes. I thought we could have managed the game better by playing but sometimes the game demands a different approach and I’m proud of the boys because of the fighting spirit that they showed and today we became victorious.”

‎Three wins, three losses from six matches.

Unbreached at home, winless away. Grand Legacy have built the foundation at Musami. Now Chinyani wants his Golden Boys to take that fight on the road.
