Gorimbo drops bombshell, disowns Zimbabwe, cuts ties with his family

United States-based mixed martial artist Temba Gorimbo has sensationally claimed he has cut ties with his family members in Zimbabwe because of ‘lack of support’ from them.

Gorimbo, who is Zimbabwe’s first UFC winner, also disowned the country saying “he doesn’t belong to Zimbabwe.”

Speaking on African Voices on CNN, the outspoken Gorimbo revealed that he has blocked all his family members back home and when he dies, he doesn’t want to be buried in Zimbabwe.

“I don’t talk to any of my family members anymore, none. I have blocked all my family members on my phone,” said Gorimbo.

“I love my family from afar and I don’t belong to Zimbabwe. I belong to the Universe and every single person that wants to take inspiration from me.

“When I die, I don’t want to be buried in my village, I want my body to be burnt and for the ashes to be thrown in Kruger National Park, that’s my wish,” added Gorimbo.

The 34-year-old fighter insists while some Zimbabweans will be pissed by his utterances of no longer belonging to the country, he is unapologetically standing by his words.

“I know some Zimbabweans will be pissed because I said I no longer belong to Zimbabwe, but nobody in Zimbabwe supported me, including my own family,” said Gorimbo.

“I had this dream by myself, I went for it by myself with the support of no one else,” he added.
