Four games, No win: What Maruwa is praying for ahead of Mabvira-vira hurdle

TelOne FC coach Herbert Maruwa has revealed his sole wish as The Wifi Boys prepare to host defending PSL Champions Scottland at Ascot Stadium on Thursday.

The Gweru-based side is winless in four matches, having managed two draws, against MWOS FC and FC Platinum. They lost twice at home against Dynamos and Simba Bhora FC, which means they are yet to register a win both at home and away.

What consoles Maruwa is the fact that his team has managed to score in three games – against Dynamos where they lost 2-1, against MWOS in their 1-1 draw, and the 2-2 draw with FC Platinum.

“In terms of maybe going forward, scoring, since game one, we only failed to score against Simba Bhora, but the other three games we managed to score. So what we are looking for is now a clean sheet, then we’ll see what will happen,” Maruwa told Fanzone.

However, the former Dynamos mentor is praying for a clean sheet, hoping his men will be able to stand toe to toe with the star-studded, Scottland FC.

“They’re a star-studded team, but this is just a game of football. We don’t need to give them too much respect, and we have to close all the gaps they might try to exploit. We are going out there and play our game, nullify their strengths, and capitalize on our chances,” he added.
