FIFA to receive Real Madrid report on refereeing errors

Executives at Real Madrid are currently assembling a comprehensive report to document what they view as repeated officiating errors made against the club during the opening rounds of the new La Liga season.

The initiative was revealed by Real Madrid TV (RMTV), which explained that the club’s hierarchy has been alarmed by the frequency of disputed decisions in recent weeks. They believe these decisions have negatively influenced their matches and unfairly hindered their progress in the league.

The planned document will catalogue the incidents in question and serve as an official record of what the club perceives as a pattern of poor refereeing.

Disputed red card in Real Sociedad clash fuels discontent

This move comes in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s most recent outing, a Saturday night trip to Anoeta to face Real Sociedad.

Although Xabi Alonso’s side ultimately claimed a 2-1 win, the match once again left Real Madrid’s players, staff, and supporters incensed by the match officials.

Late in the first half, defender Dean Huijsen was sent off with a straight red card after the referee deemed his challenge to be a last-man foul. Real Madrid argued that Éder Militão had been positioned alongside the incident, meaning Huijsen should not have been considered the final defender.

The decision caused uproar on the pitch and in the stands, with many around the club expressing disbelief that such calls continue to go against them so early in the campaign.

Formal complaint to FIFA being prepared

According to RMTV presenter Álvaro de la Lama, Real Madrid intend for their report to cover the first four matchdays of this season, as well as several controversial moments from last term.

Once the compilation is complete, the club will send it directly to FIFA in order to raise formal concerns about what they see as a recurring pattern of damaging officiating mistakes.

The decision to escalate the matter reflects the growing frustration within the Santiago Bernabéu boardroom, where there is a feeling that the issue can no longer be ignored.
