FC Platinum’s new era: Selemani ready to shine

FC Platinum’s hotshot, Jarrison Selemani, has issued a stirring call to arms to his teammates and fans, hinting that reclaiming the top spot in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League will be a breeze.

Last season, Selemani was a shining beacon at the four-time PSL Champions, but his efforts could not help them win the PSL title again.

They finished in Scottland FC, MWOS FC, Simba Bhora, Ngezi Platinum Stars and TelOne FC respectively.

Nevertheless, he excelled at an individual level, earning a place amongst the 2025 Soccer Star of the Year finalists.

Even after the change of coaches from Norman Mapeza to Joel Lupahla, the 28-year-old will be expected to be a point of difference at the Zvishavane side.

As such, he is upbeat about the upcoming season, where they will square off with Ngezi Platinum Stars in the season opener.

“Every time we step onto the pitch, we carry your voices, your passion, and your belief with us. We wear the badge of FC Platinum with pride.

“And we’re not just fighting for the team, we’re fighting for you, our loyal fans. Your energy drives us, your support motivates us, and your dedication inspires us to give our all, every single game,” Selemani said.

It will be no surprise if Selemani is handed the captaincy role, as he is one of the senior players retained by new coach Lupahla.

Key additions at the club include former Highlanders winger McKinnon Mushore, midfielder Garikai Dematsika, Takunda Vhareta, along with foreign talent including Malawian defender Maxwell Paipi, Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Dogbey, and Cameroonian goalkeeper Manfred Ekoi.
