Round 1 of the Chibuku Super Cup brought us drama, shocks, and plenty of standout performances. From shootout heroics to long-range screamers, here’s who made the cut for our Team of the Week:
Goalkeeper
Tatenda Makoni (Dynamos) – Came on specifically for the shootout and instantly delivered, saving the very first penalty. Calm under pressure and played a big part in Dynamos’ win.
Defenders
Clive Kwangwari (MWOS) – Outstanding in defence, shutting down CAPS United’s advances and keeping things organised at the back.
Emmanuel Jalai (Dynamos) – Thrived in a more advanced role, contributing both defensively and in pushing play forward.
Gareth Madhake (Scottland FC) – Solid at the back and provided the assist for Scottland’s goal — a well-rounded performance.
Midfielders
Moses Shidolo (Scottland FC) – Finished off a great team move with precision and composure.
Nigel Matinha (MWOS) – Scored what could be a goal of the season contender from 35 yards — an absolute thunderbolt.
Enasio Perezo (Dynamos) – Changed the tempo in the second half, giving Dynamos fresh attacking impetus.
Keith Mathe (Bikita Minerals) – Standout in the win over TelOne, dictated the pace and kept the midfield battle in Bikita’s favour.
Blessed Ndereki (Simba Bhora) – Steady and composed, delivered a reliable display despite Simba’s exit.
Forwards
Arthur Banda (MWOS) – Another screamer of a goal and a constant driving force for his side.
Tinaye Tsimba (Bikita Minerals) – Led the line with energy, troubling TelOne’s defence all match.
