Dynamos chairman Vincent Chawonza has sent a stern warning to PSL clubs, saying the Harare giants will be a force to reckon with in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
DeMbare had arguably one of the worst seasons ever last year, which saw them surviving relegation on the final day of what was a troubled campaign for the Glamour Boys.
Kelvin Kaindu, the Zambian mentor who steered DeMbare to safety last year, was lured by newly promoted moneybags Hardrock, while captain Emmanuel Jalai bared farewell to the club and is on the verge of joining Betway Premiership side Durban City.
Despite all those setbacks, Chawonza insists DeMbare will shock a lot of people this season.
Speaking on this week’s Fanzone episode the Harare businessman said: “Our coach is finalizing his squad for the 2026 season, then we will have our official unveiling of the players as well as the technical team.”
“I’m also happy that our main sponsor (Sakunda Holdings) has committed and their sponsorship package is bigger and better this time. The budgets that we have been asked to submit are very big.
“I’m also excited that some other partners are coming on board, the likes of Bola Bet. We are still negotiating with the kit sponsor- 90 minute plus and we are also in talks with about five more sponsors.
“As far as players are concerned, Dynamos will be better and will surprise a lot of people.
“We have attracted players from as far as DRC. Remember, we are preparing for two competitions, as we are also taking part in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We want to do well in both competitions,” said Chawonza.
