Dynamos ‘fabricate’ evidence for Nyahwa, planning to suspend their captain

Harare giants Dynamos have been accused of cooking up a charge sheet for Shadreck Nyahwa, amid revelations that they plan on suspending their captain under unclear circumstances.

Nyahwa, who took over the captaincy at Dynamos at the beginning of the current season following the departure of Emmanuel Jalai, is one of the senior players at the Glamour Boys.

He reportedly had an altercation with a teammate back in April, but the issue was resolved internally during that time, with both players burying the hatchet.

But all of a sudden, the Vincent Chawonza-led executive has reverted back to the same issue 6 months later, and even produced a charge sheet for the tough-tackling midfielder.

A Dynamos player who spoke to Fanzone on condition of anonymity, accused the club’s leadership of not taking responsibility for the club’s woes and wanting to instead shift the blame on players.

“Shaddy (Nyahwa) hasn’t done anything wrong. If anything he has been one of the key players this season, despite being forced to play with a recurring knee injury,” said the player.

“Nyahwa had an altercation with a teammate in April. It’s an issue we all knew about but even back then, it was a small issue which was resolved quickly and amicably.

“But all of a sudden, the executive has reverted back to that same issue and wants to suspend him. We all know that’s a scapegoat, the reality is they have their own reason or reasons which they are not comfortable to share, probably because they know they doesn’t make sense,” added the player.

Heads are rolling at Dynamos following the Glamour Boys’s exit from the Chibuku Super Cup last weekend.

A penalty shootout defeat to FC Hunters saw DeMbare fail to progress to the semi-finals of a competition they had won three seasons in a row.

They were also booted out of the inaugural Munhumutapa Challenge Cup while their once promising Castle Lager Premiership title charge, has gone up in flames.

DeMbare also failed to participate in the CAF Confederation Cup due to an issue with former coach Saul Chaminuka.

The general consensus among players is that the executive wants to shift the blame of what has become a disastrous season, to the players.

Efforts to get a comment from Chawonza were in vain, as his cell phone went unanswered.
