PSL giants Highlanders have received a massive reward from their benefactor, Wicknell Chivayo, for their recent victory over arch-rivals Dynamos FC. Bosso beat Dembare 1-0 in a Jairos Jiri Charity Cup match played on Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
Chivayo said he was thrilled by the win, stating it was a motivation to the team. As such, he has rewarded the club leadership with luxury cars, in addition to the bus he recently bought for the team.
Coach Benjani Mwaruwari has received a brand new 2026 Ford Everest valued at USD 92,000, while Chairman Mr. Luke Mnkandla and CEO Denzil Mnkandla have been gifted Toyota Fortuners valued at USD 80,500 and USD 72,500 respectively. Additionally, Madinda Ndlovu, Chairman of the Highlanders Legends team, has also received a Toyota Fortuner GD6 valued at USD 72,500.
Posting on his Facebook page, Chivayo said: “A motivated and well-led team will always deliver results. Highlanders FC’s 1-0 victory over Dembare clearly shows that Bosso is on the rise.
“We are surely set for an interesting 2026 Premier Soccer League season where Highlanders FC shall offer stiff competition against all odds.
“In recognition of this win, I say big congratulations to the leadership of Highlanders FC, who must request the club’s curator, Mr. Jabulani Nkomo, to accompany them to Harare on Friday to see Victor at Exquisite Car Dealership and collect the following motor vehicles which have been fully paid for.

“I specifically applaud your support and endorsement of the developmental leadership of H.E. President Cde E.D. Mnangagwa and Vision 2030.”
Chivayo added: “I am also pleased to announce that, in fulfilment of the pledge I made last year, I will be immediately disbursing the balance of USD 500,000 through the curator of the club.
“This effectively brings the total sponsorship to USD 1,000,000 as per my undertaking. It is my sincere hope and expectation that, with such financial support, the club will be able to sign new players and adequately motivate the current players by attending to their welfare and needs.”
