Chaos at Rufaro as Dynamos and Ngezi share the spoils in fiery encounter

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash between Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday descended into chaos, as emotions ran high and discipline went out the window in a tense 1-1 draw.

Ngezi Platinum finished the match with just eight men on the field after two players were sent off, along with their head coach, Takesure Chiragwi. The drama peaked when Chiragwi, visibly enraged after receiving his marching orders, lashed out and slapped one of his own players who had tried to calm him down. The incident left spectators stunned and momentarily halted play as officials attempted to restore order.

Despite the turmoil, Ngezi showed remarkable resilience to hold on for a draw. Their defensive line, though under immense pressure, stood firm to deny Dynamos a winning goal. The result, however, will be remembered less for the football and more for the chaos that overshadowed it.

For Dynamos, the point earned was enough to lift them out of the relegation zone, moving them up to 14th place with 33 points. It also extends their unbeaten streak under coach Kelvin Kaindu, who has managed to revive the team’s confidence since taking over at the end of July.

While the Glamour Boys celebrated another crucial point in their survival fight, Ngezi will have to reflect on a day that saw discipline slip away — both on and off the pitch — leaving them with serious questions ahead of their next fixture.
