Can Dynamos upset Simba?

Despite their well-documented struggles in the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, troubled giants Dynamos believe they can still preserve their place in the country’s top-flight league.

Dynamos have had three different coaches this season – Lloyd ‘Mablanyo’ Chigowe, Saul Chaminuka and now Zambian mentor Kelvin Kaindu, but things haven’t gone well for the Glamour Boys.

But DeMbare have won their last two matches and suddenly, they might just be oozing with confidence ahead of what will be a key phase in the history of the former champions.

They edged MWOS 1-0 at Rufaro last week in what was only their third win of the campaign.

They followed it up with a penalty shootout victory over Yadah at Ngoni Stadium in the preliminary round of the Chibuku Super Cup.

Up next for DeMbare is a tricky first-round fixture with Simba Bhora at Wadzanai tomorrow.

While Simba have been high-flying in the league and currently top the table after 24 matches, they can underestimate DeMbare at their peril.

Dynamos are the defending Chibuku Super Cup champions and ought to be treated with respect despite their problems this season.

The Harare giants also beat Simba Bhora this season, when the two sides met earlier in the season at Rufaro.
