Can CAPS United restore order against Bosso?

Struggling Harare giants CAPS United will be hoping to return to winning ways and calm the storm brewing in the green half of the capital when they take on Highlanders at Babourfields Stadium on Sunday.

The Green Machine’s woes continued when they succumbed to a 2–1 defeat at home to log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars last Sunday.

Irked by the result, furious CAPS fans confronted head coach Lloyd Mutasa after the final whistle, and the former Warriors midfielder had to be escorted by police details after the stadium.

Makepekepe fans demanded Chitembwe’s sacking for what some of them described as an atrocious start to the 2025 season.

The Harare giants have lost three of their opening five matches.

Their travel to Bulawayo to face Bosso, fully aware of the need to win and restore sanity.

Highlanders, whose season has been marred by administrative squabbles that saw their CEO, Brian Ndlovu, step down after he was suspended for a fraudulent deal in which he pocketed US$5000, have not won their last two matches.

They conceded a stoppage-time equalizer against Scottland at Babourfields before handing over Triangle United their first point of the season in a 1-1 stalemate at Gibbo last Sunday.

Dubbed the ‘Battle of the Cities,’ the clash has the ingredients for a thriller, as it sees two wounded giants going face-to-face.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Dynamos, who will also be seeking to return to winning ways following last week’s defeat to Manica Diamonds, host Chicken Inn at Rufaro.

Joey Antipas’ charges have not had the best start to the season and are winless.
