Highlanders Royals FC kicks off its trials for the 2026 season, hot on the heels of the Bosso Royals’ relegation from the Premier League last season.
Hopes are high that the Royals will rebuild and claw their way back to the top, though they’re not rushing it.
On 10 February 2026, the grassy field behind the Highlanders Clubhouse transforms into a stage for fresh talent.
The poster announces the event in bold: “Highlanders Royals Trials at the Clubhouse from 9 AM to 12 PM, with players instructed to bring their own water bottle, soccer kit, and boots.”
Speaking to Fanzone, Highlanders Chief Executive Officer Denzil Mnkandla said: “The trials are open to all talented girls up to the age of 20. We agreed with the Royals technical on lessons learned in the league and huge emphasis was placed on being able to develop our players adequately for the challenges of the Premier league.”
Mnkandla added: “We have no rush to go back into the league as that would be unnecessary pressure. However, focus is on developing a very good squad over the next two years that we hope when they do get promoted will be able to perform in the top competition.”
Highlanders Royals are coached by for Highlanders Royals Sithandile Khoza.
