New Inter arrival Luis Henrique has already shown his dynamism, adaptability, and trademark Brazilian style under Cristian Chivu. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the winger shared his first impressions of life at the club, his positional flexibility, and the high standards he is eager to meet.
Adaptability on the pitch
Henrique recently played as a central midfielder in a friendly against Monaco, a role he had also experienced at Marseille under Roberto De Zerbi. “The movements are different, but I feel comfortable,” he explained. “I’m here to go wherever the coach needs me, always working with seriousness and commitment. I’ll do absolutely anything to help the team.”
That match also gave him a clear view of Inter’s resilience. Despite going a man down, the team rallied to earn a result. “Not every side can do that,” he noted. The Brazilian acknowledged the intensity of training sessions, saying it’s physically demanding but essential to building a strong group.
Settling into Milan and learning from Chivu
Henrique described Italy as “one of the most beautiful countries in the world” and praised Milan for its blend of tradition and modernity. He sees Inter as a global giant and associates the club with Ronaldo “Il Fenomeno,” his childhood idol.
The 22-year-old also values the influence of head coach Cristian Chivu. “He has the spirit of a player, so he understands what you need and what you feel,” Henrique said. Chivu gives him both confidence and freedom, urging him to take risks, attempt dribbles, and engage in one-on-one situations. Tactically, Henrique is learning the importance of positioning but believes he can bring his own flair and boldness to the squad.
Eager for healthy competition
With strong competition for places, particularly on the right side, Henrique welcomes the challenge. He expressed admiration for Denzel Dumfries and said he has always aimed to play alongside top-level players. For him, competing for a starting spot is a source of motivation, as it allows him to learn from teammates while pushing himself to earn his place in the lineup.
