Highlanders appear to have given in on Andrew Mbeba’s demand for a house before signing a new contract, amid revelations that the the club will purchase a property for the star defender.
Mbeba’s contract with Highlanders expired on December 31, 2025 and the Soccer of the Year finalist has not been training ahead of the new season because negotiations between the two parties hit a brick wall.
The bone in contention has been Mbeba’s demand for Bosso to include a house as part of his signing-on for the new contract.
A well-placed source privy to ongoings told Fanzone that the club has finally agreed to buy Mbeba a house in Bulawayo.
“As you know, Andrew has not been training because he is yet to sign a new contract with the club because his wish is to have a house bought for him,” said the source.
“I can confidently tell you that negotiations in that context have been progressing well and the club has agreed to purchase it.
“Mbeba has even identified a property in Pumula while negotiations continue,” added the source.
