In a glittering ceremony held last night at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks in Harare, Black Rhinos FC officially unveiled Betterbrands Gold as their main sponsor for the 2026 MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) season.
The sponsorship package, valued at US$500,000, is a significant boost for the club as they eye a return to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL).
The impressive package includes a luxury team bus, a Toyota Fortuner for the Chairman, a Toyota Aqua for head coach the head coach, and another Toyota Aqua for administrative purposes.
The club also unveiled its new kit for the season, featuring home and away strips, tracksuits, and training gear.
Speaking to Fanzone, Black Rhinos FC Chairman Colonel Mabiginye expressed his delight with the sponsorship deal. “This sponsorship is very important as it comes at a time when we are trying to fight our way back to the PSL where we belong. It’s really a shot in the arm,” he said.
The funds will be utilized to cover key areas that directly impact results,
including player incentives and salaries.
”The partnership goes a long way in enhancing our attainment of the 2026 season target, which is promotion to the PSL,” Colonel Mabiginye added.
The Chairman urged fans to rally behind the team, promising that the players will be motivated to deliver. “To our fans, let’s rally behind the team and the players will be motivated to deliver. The overall target is promotion, and it demands a certain number of points at the end of the season. The progress can be measured through points at any stage of the campaign.”
Chauya Chipembere were relegated from the PSL at the end of the 2023 season.
Last season they finished fourth in the MCM NRSL last season with 69 points, 19 points behind winners Agama FC who earned promotion to the PSL.
With Betterbrands Gold on board, Black Rhinos FC is poised to make a strong push for promotion in the highly competitive MCM Northern Region Soccer League.
