Billiat, Walter, Knowledge: Will it work out for Scottland?

Scottland’s recent signing of Knowledge Musona once again showed how ambitious the Premiership debutants are.

Mabviravira signed the former Warriors captain and unveiled him at half time during their 1-0 defeat to Yadah at Rufaro Stadium on Monday.

The Aces Youth Academy was a free agent after parting ways with Saudi Pro League side Okhdood, despite helping the club avoid relegation.

Musona will play in the local premiership for the first time in his illustrious career, which included stints in South Africa, Belgium, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.

While no one can doubt Musona’s ability as a footballer, especially bearing in mind a glittering international career spanning over a decade, the debate centers around Tonderai Ndiraya’s ability to get the best out of the star-studded Scottish attack.

The Scottland forward line, arguably the best in the Premiership, comprises Musona’s brother Walter, who is the captain, Khama Billiat, and Terrence Dzvukamanja.

Already, Scottland were struggling to get the best out of Walter and Billiat, who have scored one goal each in the entire campaign so far.

Despite Billiat and Walter’s struggles in front of goal, Ndiraya is relishing Knowledge’s presence in the Scottland attack, insisting it will add the much-needed impetus to it.

“Knowledge is coming back and I’m sure we can recall that there was a time when the nation was on the shoulders of the two players- Knowledge and Khama,” said Ndiraya.

“That was the whole idea of bringing Knowledge back into the team, so that they can link up again, hopefully that partnership will spark again.

“There is also the partnership of Knowledge and his brother, which I also hope will bring something into the team.

“If you recall, in our last international game, they played like that, so we are relishing the opportunity to see them lining up like that in our team,” added Ndiraya.

Knowledge will likely make his Scottland debut when Ndiraya’s charges travel to Zvishavane for a clash against unbeaten FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
