Barcelona is monitoring young Croatian midfielder Jagusic

Barcelona continue to monitor emerging prospects across Europe, and their latest attention has shifted toward Croatia. Club representatives are tracking 20-year-old Adriano Jagusic, a midfielder at NK Slaven Belupo, who has gained a reputation as an offensively oriented talent. According to reports from Croatian Football, relayed by Sport, the Catalan side view him as a potentially valuable addition at a relatively low cost.

The club has already ventured into the Croatian market in recent years. Mikayil Faye, who previously spent time in the Croatian league, made the move to Barcelona in the summer of 2024. Jagusic could follow a similar path, though he is already drawing interest from other major European sides such as Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. With a significant transfer expected next summer, competition around his signature is growing.

A manageable price tag amid widespread interest

Jagusic’s estimated value is currently listed at around €1.9 million, but Slaven Belupo are expected to demand more given the number of clubs watching him closely. Even so, Barcelona would still be in a position to match the likely asking price, despite the well-known financial limitations affecting the club’s transfer activity in recent seasons.

Barcelona’s midfield depth, especially in the advanced areas, is one of the squad’s stronger positions. Hansi Flick already has several creative players available, including Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez and Dro Fernandez. In addition, La Masia standout Guille Fernandez remains a homegrown alternative, although he has recently been linked with Borussia Dortmund.

Decision pending ahead of the summer window

Given the quality already present in their attacking midfield roles, Barcelona do not necessarily require another addition in that zone. However, the club sees Jagusic as a potential opportunity too promising to ignore. Scouts will continue to evaluate him in the coming months, with a definitive stance expected as the next transfer window approaches.

The plan is for Barcelona to complete their assessment before summer, after which they will decide whether to begin formal discussions with Slaven Belupo regarding a possible transfer.
