Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has completed a move back to Marseille just 12 months after parting ways with the Ligue 1 outfit. The 36-year-old frontman arrives on a free deal following his departure from Al-Qadsiah earlier in the summer.
The Gabonese attacker has agreed to terms reportedly extending through to 2027, marking his second spell at the French side. His previous tenure in 2023-24 saw him tally 30 goals and register 11 assists across 51 outings.
Productive spell in Saudi Arabia ends
Aubameyang made an impact during his time in Saudi Arabia, contributing 21 goals and three assists across 36 appearances in all competitions. His efforts helped Al-Qadsiah finish the campaign in fourth position and reach the final of the King’s Cup.
After just one season, he exited the Saudi Pro League side without a transfer fee, making way for his return to European football.
Journey since Arsenal exit continues
This marks his fifth change of club since ending his time at Arsenal in early 2022. The striker spent four years at the north London side, scoring 68 goals in 128 league fixtures before leaving by agreement with the club, following disciplinary issues.
He briefly joined Barcelona for half a season before signing with Chelsea, where he played throughout the 2022-23 campaign.
