Arteta pleased with Arsenal’s big away victory against Ipswich

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on his attacking stars for their clinical display in front of goal, as the Gunners brushed aside Ipswich Town with a dominant 4-0 victory to cap off a flawless week.

Following Arsenal’s sensational win at the Bernabéu on Wednesday, the Gunners delivered another impressive away performance, firing four past Ipswich Town. Leandro Trossard netted a classy brace, while Gabriel Martinelli and rising star Ethan Nwaneri also got on the scoresheet to seal another memorable outing.

All three players have now bagged nine goals apiece this season, and the Arsenal boss couldn’t be happier with the collective effort in front of goal. He was particularly impressed with the Gunners’ electric first-half performance, which set the tone for their most emphatic domestic away victory since December.

Reflecting on the afternoon, Arteta said: “I’m very happy with the performance, the win and with the fact that we have managed a few players that were struggling, and gave the chance to others that fully deserve to win the match”.

“I think it was one of the best 35 minutes that we’ve played away from home this season and after the back and forth we did to Madrid, I’m very impressed”.

“We need a contribution from all areas and from different players to get the numbers as high as possible. Today, I think we did it as well. We scored some fantastic goals again, like in Madrid, and we need to continue with that ambition”.

“I think the front players today were really sharp, really at it, and getting in great positions. They took risks and looked a real threat. We scored some fantastic goals, I think they were superb, so very pleased with that.”

Strong away form key to Arsenal’s success

The victory at Portman Road extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run on the road in the league to 12 matches, dating back to November. While a handful of draws during that stretch have put the Premier League title just out of reach, the Gunners’ strong performances away from home have played a key role in their European success.

The Gunners have won four consecutive times in Europe since their last away league defeat, and given the immense effort required to secure victories away from home, Mikel Arteta is pleased with the team’s ability to keep delivering despite the challenges faced this season. He also took the time to applaud the incredible support the Gunners have received away from the Emirates Stadium.

“It’s the consistency we are showing,” he reiterated.

“Unfortunately we have drawn three or four games that we should have won, clearly should have won and for small details, we haven’t managed to do that. That’s what is penalising us”.

“But with the numbers that we have at the moment, to be where we are and the adaptability and versatility that the team has shown again today, with three or four players that could not start the game and still perform at that level, that’s really pleasing”.

“When we talk about consistency, a big word for them. It’s easier to go to Madrid and play that experience, but the ones that were here today were fully engaged with the team in every reaction and gave us unbelievable support, so thank you so much for doing that.”
