‘Ama2k president’: Mongameli might end up pocketing US$100k in total from Hardrock move

It is by an enormous distance the biggest player transfer in the history of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

Mongameli Tshuma’s move from Bulawayo giants Highlanders to ambitious Premiership debutants Hardrock, is the biggest investment a club has ever made for a player in the country’s top-flight league.

Hardrock paid a reported US$200 000 for the 25-year-old, who will remain at Bosso for the rest of the season.

“Highlanders Football Club confirms that an agreement has been reached for the permanent transfer of midfielder Mongameli Tshuma to Hardrock Football Club, with effect from 1 January 2027,” read a statement by Bosso on August 6, 2026.

“Tshuma will remain with Highlanders FC for the remainder of the current football season before officially joining Hardrock FC at the beginning of the 2027 football season.

“Mongameli remains committed and professional in his approach as the club continues to fight to achieve its targets in all the football competitions during this current football season.”

Sources close to the Warriors midfielder told Fanzone that the Kwekwe-based side also paid Tshuma a whopping US$80 000 signing-on bonus.

As per procedure, the former Hwange midfielder will also get 10% of the US$200 000 transfer fee Hardrock paid Bosso, which is US$20 000.

In total, ‘Smaller’ as nimble-footed midfielder is affectionately known in Bulawayo, will pocket US$100 000 in total from his move to Hardrock.

Born on July 22, 2001, Tshuma previously played for Mpumelelo FC in the Bulawayo ZIFA Junior League, the now defunct Chiwororo FC, Zimbabwe Saints, Zebra Revolution and Hwange.

In his debut season in the PSL, Tshuma has scored against Bosso’s old foes Dynamos, made his debut for the national team and became the most expensive player in the history of the league.
